The quote I received this morning from playing The Secret Memory Game:
The truth is that the Universe has been answering you all of your life, but you cannot receive the answers unless you are aware. Be aware of everything around you, because you are receiving the answers to your questions in every moment of the day. The channels those answers can come through are unlimited. They could be delivered in the form of a newspaper headline that attracts your attention, or overhearing someone speaking, or a song on the radio, or signage on a truck passing by, or receiving a sudden inspiration. Remember to remember, and become aware.
For most of you, you already know that music is a very big part of my life. I am about to share a story with you that you may not believe or even understand.
A couple of weeks ago I was struggling. I found that my positive outlook on life was slowly turning negative and something needed to change. I had read an article some time ago about how our angels try to contact us. Some of the ways are through signs, people we meet, and music. After reading this article I started to open my eyes a bit more and to hear things that I think I was ignoring. At work I turn on the lights and then the radio. Every day for about a week there was a song on that I had never heard. I am pretty good at ignoring the radio at work but for some reason this song seemed to stick out like a sore thumb. It seemed to be on ALL the time! I could not fully understand the words and they never seemed to say who sang it or the title. So, one night during a class I decided to search Youtube.com. After listening to a million songs (at least it seemed like a million) I found it. I looked up the lyrics then to read something that opened my eyes very wide. It was everything I have been feeling inside for a while now but was not ready to face. Of course I started to ball and head for the bathroom. The song was definitely a sign from my angels saying that I need to change my life and that change was totally ok. The song is Where I Stood By Missy Higgins. I have to tell you, once I had the realization of what I was hearing over and over again, I have not heard the song.....not even once. So listen and be aware, have an open mind and believe. You never know what your angels are trying to tell you unless you are really listening.
Where I Stood by Missy Higgins:
I don't know what I've done
Or if I like what I've begun
But something told me to run
And honey you know me it's all or none
There were sounds in my head
Little voices whispering
That I should go and this should end
Oh and I found myself listening
'Cos I dont know who I am, who I am without you
All I know is that I should
And I don't know if I could stand another hand upon you
All I know is that I should
'Cos she will love you more than I could
She who dares to stand where I stood
See I thought love was black and white
That it was wrong or it was right
But you ain't leaving without a fight
And I think I am just as torn inside
'Cos I dont know who I am, who I am without you
All I know is that I should
And I don't know if I could stand another hand upon you
All I know is that I should
'Cos she will love you more than I could
She who dares to stand where I stood
And I won't be far from where you are if ever you should call
You meant more to me than anyone I ever loved at all
But you taught me how to trust myself and so I say to you
This is what I have to do
'Cos I dont know who I am, who I am without you
All I know is that I should
And I don't know if I could stand another hand upon you
All I know is that I should
'Cos she will love you more than I could
She who dares to stand where I stood
Oh, she who dares to stand where I stood
What I am thankful for today:
signs from my angels
dinner with my family tonight
my children
music
knowing that change is ok and GOOD
a sense of peace
The Secret for turning my life around into a positive one

Quote of the Day
The quote that I received today via email was:
It's not how much you have that makes people look up to you, it's who you are.
- Elvis Presley
Love that! I have never been one to care much about what a person has or how much money they make. I love knowing what makes a person tick; their interests, hobbies, their personality, etc. Material possessions and money are things that may not even last forever. I am content with having a roof over my head, food on my table, and my health. Most people know that I am a very simple person. My passions are my photos, my garden, poetry, animals, nature, music, family, friends and so on. These are the things that are important to me. I could care less if I even have a car or furniture to fill my home as long as I have the use of my legs and a roof over my head...I am good to go. I can walk anywhere I need to go.
I get more happiness when I get to read a book to my child or accomplish a layout in my scrapbook than I would going out and purchasing something on sale that I really do not need. Notice how many woman have so many pieces of clothing in their wardrobe or all those pair of shoes? We only wear about 30% of the wardrobe we have, so why do we need so much? Why do men have to own over 1,000 movies? Seriously how often do they watch them?
I honestly believe that some people have this compulsive disorder where they HAVE to have instant gratification. Only problem with that is...it doesn't last more than about 10 minutes. So I say to myself every time I go to spend money, "Do I really need it?" If the answer is no then I do not buy it. It really doesn't matter how much I want whatever it is, I know the happiness it brings is only short lived.
I have all that I need to survive and all the love that will carry me through good and bad times. And, although I may not have a lot of material possessions, I have all that I need to make me completely happy.
I am thankful for:
my children
my family
my friends
my pets
nature
photos
my memories
my scrapbooks
nature
my gardens
my home
my health
my children's health and happiness
family get-togethers
my happiness
my life

To My Friends
This blog is dedicated to all of my friends. When I say my friends, I am not saying my acquaintances or those people who claim to be my friend. My true friends will not judge me or ever say "I told you so." They will also not criticize my decisions or focus on my flaws. I have chosen to blog today a lot of awesome friendship quotes that I have found online. May each and everyone of you feel as blessed as I do. I am very lucky to have as many true friends to go through my life with. I love you all!
"A friend shares the good times and helps out by listening during the bad times."
---Molly Oliver
A friend loves at all times."
-- The Bible: Proverbs 17, 17.
A true friend is someone who is there for you when he'd rather be anywhere else."
-- Len Wein
A true friend is one who overlooks your failures and tolerates your success!
-- Doug Larson
Your friend is the man who knows all about you, and still likes you."
-- Elbert Hubbard
The best way to destroy an enemy is to make him a friend.
-- Abraham Lincoln
"Surround yourself only with people who are going to lift you higher."
If all my friends were to jump off a bridge, I would not follow, I would be at the
bottom to catch them when they fall.

When it hurts to look back, and you're scared to look ahead, you can look beside you and your best friend will be there.”
"True friendship isn't seen with the eyes, it's felt with the heart."
"A true friend is someone you can disagree with and still remain friends.
For if not, they weren't true friends in the first place."
By Sandy Ratliff
"True friendship is based on trust, honesty and sincere generosity of our hearts."
By Song Park
"The most beautiful discovery true friends make is that they can
grow separately without growing apart."
By Elisabeth Foley
A true friend is someone who thinks that you are a good egg even though he knows that you are slightly cracked.
Bernard Meltzer
The best part of life is when your family becomes your friends, and your friends become your family."
---Danica Whitfield
"Never explain - your friends do not need it and your enemies will not believe you anyway. "
~ Elbert Hubbard
A true friend reaches for your hand and touches your heart.
~Author Unknown
A friend can tell you things you don't want to tell yourself.
~Frances Ward Weller
The friend who holds your hand and says the wrong thing is made of dearer stuff than the one who stays away.
~Barbara Kingsolver
Jesus once said, you judge a tree by the fruit it bares but he also said, Judge not lest ye be judged. The more modern version of bible puts it this way: As you judge others, so shall you be judged. Either way, it means be careful. Judgment is a double-edge sword.
Let me ask you this... Are you a true friend? Or are you only their for people when it is convenient for you? Do you criticize and judge? If you do, you may want to ask yourself, "Do I like the way it feels to be criticized and judged?" I am sure your answer is, "No". Here is a poem that I found that I absolutely love. May you find the inspiration in the poem just as I did.

Do not judge me my Friend!
Do not judge me, my friend for if you do so
You are judging yourself more than you know.
If our beliefs vary from one another as we live
This does not mean we have nothing to give.
We do have the love of our Lord and his Son.
And when we accept him our journey has begun.
We must dwell on things in common we share.
We should not fall into the trap where we point and stare
At a brother who does did not come to Jesus in the same way
For the roads that lead him to our lord may have been through clouds of gray.
If we cast judgment and do not attempt to understand his heart and soul
We are the ones who have not yet reached our spiritual goal.
That is to love and to give of ourselves through his holy name.
For it was by love that to Earth our Lord Jesus Christ came.
Try, therefore to understand and be slow to criticize
For if you judge your brother this could lead to your demise.
Let your faith ring out like a bell by the way that you live
And do not cast judgment but never fail to give.
Give to your brother from your heart love that’s pure
For one day, you shall find yourself standing at Heavens door.
And when you do, I pray you will know God’s wonderful grace.
As he looks back ore your life, your footsteps, he’ll trace.
He will see the times you have forgiven others
He will welcome you in to meet with heavenly brothers.
If friends are considered the flowers in our garden of life then I am to say that I am blessed with the most beautiful, immense garden there is.
What I am thankful for today:
finding these awesome quotes and this poem
my friends and their amazing friendships
time to be alone but never feeling alone
the sunshine
energy
my positive attitude which keeps all negativity from me
my health...still have not been sick since reading The Secret!!
people who bask in the light of life
making so many accomplishments....all by myself (it is a huge reward)!
Egg McMuffins (an every Saturday morning breakfast)
butterflies which symbolize so much for me and my life
sunsets, with each one I am that much closer to achieving my goals
knowing that I have a lot to look forward to and a great life ahead of me

Crappy Situations and No One To Blame
I found this quote the other day that I feel like sharing. It was: One who has no goals has no where to go. That is so true. If you do not have a goal, where are you heading? I set goals for myself daily. Most of them are chore lists, or inspiring lists, such as my mood, or whatever...
I used to not do this and never felt like leaving the couch. Partially because I had no motivation nor did I set any goals. Some of the reason was because I was stuck in a situation that I didn't want to be in. Guess who's fault that was...mine. Little I did I know that at the time. I now know that WE are in control of our lives by every single choice we make. Whether it is to date a man who really isn't worth our time, spend that cash on going out to eat (again) but now have no money for our bills, working at a job that we cannot stand, stuffing our faces with greasy fattening food and calorie filled lattes down to not thinking positively and starting our day off on the wrong foot. IT IS OUR FAULT...no one else's. We make the choices. No one sits there pointing a gun to our heads saying, "You must take this crappy job or eat those damn hot wings!"
If you find yourself in a situation that you are unhappy in maybe you should write down some goals. Find a new direction to take and start thinking about the choices you make. Don't worry about why or how....just do! Your goals can be simple and do not have to be huge material items. If you are sad, one of your goals could be to end the day in a smile. It is that easy. If you are staying in a crappy mood, then that is your choice. I was crying for a very short time this morning. Then I had two friends write to me and made me crack up. Both of them gave me some inspiration to change my mood. Yes, sometimes we all need a little help from our friends, but isn't that what they are there for? We are not in this world alone.
Today I say, get off the damn couch, eat some fruit, re-evaluate your problems, pay your debts before splurging on unnecessary things, and damn it...SMILE! Life is too short to be miserable.
What I am thankful for today:
My friends who are there for me every second of the day
smiles
laughter
Yes Man
time
fruit
long walks
responsibility
my store
goals
dreams
motivation
